Introduction
As a result of using the GHPPA, you will develop the following policy skills, learning how to:
- Identify the nature of an historical social problem
- Conduct research on the impact of the problem
- Determine the causes and factors contributing to the problem
- Identify and evaluate the policy enacted at that time in history
- Develop a public policy analysis for a similar historical or contemporary social problem (optional activity)
In addition to public policy skills, you will also be learning:
- how to effectively use the Internet to do research and gather information
- to engage in collaborative problem solving,
- thinking and writing skills related to developing essays for the thematic and document based questions on the state Regents examinations
