  • Introduction


    As a result of using the GHPPA, you will develop the following policy skills, learning how to:
    • Identify the nature of an historical social problem
    • Conduct research on the impact of the problem
    • Determine the causes and factors contributing to the problem
    • Identify and evaluate the policy enacted at that time in history
    • Develop a public policy analysis for a similar historical or contemporary social problem (optional activity)

    In addition to public policy skills, you will also be learning:

    • how to effectively use the Internet to do research and gather information
    • to engage in collaborative problem solving,
    • thinking and writing skills related to developing essays for the thematic and document based questions on the state Regents examinations
