The Facts of Escobedo v. Illinois:
In 1960 in Illinois, Escobedo was arrested in connection with murder. During
police interrogation Escobedo requested to see his lawyer, but was denied. He
made a statement which was used against him at trial and he was convicted of
murder. He appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
