Introduction

 

Teens who practice unsafe sex can spread sexually transmitted diseases.   As a student at Walton High School, you have over three thousand peers.  Unfortunately, some of them are practicing unsafe sex and this has impacted the number of sexually transmitted diseases being treated at Montefiore clinic and other medical facilities in the Bronx.  As a member of Walton High School’s Safe Sex Committee, you will be researching the problem of unsafe sex practices at Walton and in the Bronx.

 

 

Task

As a member of the Walton High School Safe Sex Committee, you have been asked to write an article for the school newspaper.  You must use the PPA process to help you complete your editorial.  Your point of view is valuable and should be very clear in the writing of this article. 

Literature read in class, texts, internet resources will be used in the completion of your project.    In your article for the Walton School newspaper, you will be addressing this question:  How do unsafe sex practices impact the incidence of sexually transmitted disease.
