The leaders of your nation will select 3 of the
10 documents to classify as top secret.
These documents must be printed and put in an envelope and given to the
teacher. These are your top- secret
documents and it will be the objective of your opponent to find out which
documents you classified as secret.

Working together you will classify one of the
three documents as top secret. You will
have to print that document and then place it in an envelope and give it to the
teacher. In order for one of the Cold War powers to dominate a satellite
nation; they will have to identify your top- secret document. Other ways the super powers can dominate is
if they offer financial assistance or they assassinate the opposition leader.
You must select and print TWO documents from your assigned nation. You will then incorporate those documents
into a document based essay. This essay
must respond to the following questions.
Did your nation follow a wise policy during the Cold War?
How was your strategy for winning the Cold War different than the nation you were assigned?

newspapers. Your paper should compare the
actions of the players of the game with the real nations during the Cold
War. You need to dig for secrets and be
a force in the simulation.

$50. You should spend your money wisely
to defeat your opponent in the 4 categories below. Complete the sheet below.

more categories will gain control of the country and 6% of the points. Ties will e broken by the roll of the
die. If the super powers reach and
agreement over the tie the die will not be thrown, eliminating the chance of
nuclear war.

followed during the Cold War simulation with those that actually took
place. By first hand experiencing the
dilemmas and choices leaders had to make students will gain greater insight
into international diplomacy. Finally
students will be able to interpret and incorporate primary source documents
into a clearly articulated foreign policy position paper. With your experience as a diplomat what
advice would you give our current President about the war on terrorism?
