Introduction:

 

Hunger is an issue that should concern everyone and should be addressed in our society. You are a Public Analyst working in the Mayor’s Office and  you have been assigned to review the current policies on Hunger in New York City. 

 

 

As a Public Policy Analyst, your assignment is:

 

  • To investigate the policies associated to hunger in New York City
  • To study the effects of those policies on our city
  • To propose your own policies necessary to deal with the social problem of Hunger.

 

 

Task:

 

You will create a news report consisting of:

 

·        a written report that explains the background of the social problem, analysis of current policies and substantiated recommendations for a new public policy

·        a poster or photo journal summarizing the social problem

Conclusion

 

Students should have discovered evidence of hunger in New York City.  Students will also have explored the plight of citizens living with out food today, its effects and policies that currently address the problem.  Students should have made a public policy and have evaluated it.
