INTRODUCTION: 

 

S

tudents  are truant.  Being excessively absent from school is causing them to fail their classes.  It is preventing many students from graduating.  Many are getting into trouble and just making their situation in life worse.  Your teacher has chosen you as a student advisor, and wants to know how to insure that every student comes to school. What are some ways to make sure that this happens? 

 

 

TASK:  Write a report outlining your ideas.  Use the Six Step Public Policy Process to write your report.

 

 

PROCESS:

 

            Day One:  You will work in groups of four.

 

        Day Two:  Using the Public Policy Analyst you will define the problem of lateness.

 

        Day Three:  Gather evidence.

 

        Day Four:  Identify causes

 

        Day Five: Evaluate a Policy

 

        Day Six:  Develop solutions

 

        Day Seven:  Select the best solutions
