INTRODUCTION

Life is not possible without water.  Human are 2/3rd water and about 7/10th of the word is water. It is also well known that clean water is absolutely essential for health for healthy living.  Adequate supply of fresh and clean drinking water is basic need for all human being on Earth.  However, through human development, water system are used as a dumping ground for waste, consequently, water pollution is a growing problem. You and your group members will become EPA investigators.

Your objective is to do a research paper on the overall health impacts of water pollution on humans and the environment.  The major emphasis will be on determining the resources and extent of damage to humans’ heath and the environment. The President and the United States Congress will read your report so they can make new laws to save the environment. You have a challenging and daunting task. Good luck to you all. You can save the lives of millions with your research.

TASK

You will complete the following task: This task will be graded by the Rubrics stated in the web quest.

·        You will write a report that must contain a cover page with the title of the project, name of individual in the groups and the teacher name. This report will be a minimum of 3 typewritten pages in length

·        Each group will create and present a statistical graph or chart that plot the type of water pollutants and the different types of health problem.

·        Each group will also create a presentation should last 10-15 minutes and during the presentation you should include but not limited the following:

a)     Provide an specific situation causing the pollution event

b)    Discuss the actual impact on the environment and health on adjacent population.

PROCESS

Your group will

USE THE SIX STEPS OF PUBLIC ANALYSIS TO:

1.     Define the problem:  provide an overview of the specific situation causing the pollution event.

2.     Gather Evidence of the Problem: of current status of the location including information on the current health of humans and animals population.

3. Gather Evidence of the Problem:  of specific pollutants that affect human health and social deterioration of   the environment.

                                   .

4. Evaluate the Existing Policy that can help to reduce wastes of clean water and curb unnecessary inputs.

5.     Develop solutions

6: And Selecting the Best Policy to reduce or eliminate the amount and the variety of water pollution

Your group will gather the information to complete these worksheets on the TIPS PPA web site by using the Internet sources given in the “resource” section and other text material.

Your task will include all the elements of the Public Policy Analyst.

After complete your research on the “ health impact on water pollution”, and complete the PPA worksheet you will then write your report following the following guideline.
