CIS 166
You
walk into your school building one morning and you were greeted by two school
safety officers who informed you that you had to pass through a newly installed
metal detector. You did so without
hesitation. You went upstairs only to
see teams of officers on each floor.
Your school has just assumed the look of an armed camp! Of course you are also aware of that violence
has escalated in the building putting fear into the teachers and students
alike; but do we need cops in the school buildings?
Your
task is to research the issues of indiscipline in schools using the Public
Policy Analysis procedures listed below.
You will need to come with alternate ways of ensuring discipline in your
school so as to ensure a safe and peaceful learning environment. You must research and evaluate current
disciplinary measures instituted by the Department of Education for their
effectiveness. You will do an oral
presentation about your findings and also present a paper. Your presentation may be in the form of a
poem or a PowerPoint presentation. You
will be evaluated on factual material, conventions, grammar and usage of the
English language.
