INTRODUCTION

 

Everyday people are diagnosed with Cancer.  Scientist all over the world are working hard to find a cure for this terrible disease.  Some type of Cancer, if they are detected at early stages, can be removed through surgery.  Nowadays some scientists believe that gene therapy is the solution for this incurable disease.  In this webquest you will be looking at the nature for the social problem that gene therapy will be causing to people in America.  Using on line resources, and your knowledge of genetics, you will suggest solutions to evaluate this problem.

Using the public policy approach and your knowledge of biology.  You will analyze the problem of implementing Gene Therapy.  To do that, you will be required to:

 

1-     Create a Power Point presentation, analyzing its benefits, its cost, and its effectiveness.

2-     You have to decide if the existence policy should be stopped or kept.

3-     Finally, you are required to write a 3-page essay stating why you are opposing or proposing this existing policy.
