Cancer is becoming one of the major illnesses, which are threatening the health of people in an alarming rate. Everyday more and more people are being diagnosed with this decease. People in major cities are discovering different types of cancers everyday. The incidents of cancer among different ethnic groups are constantly increasing. The department of environment and center for decease control has a major challenge to overcome for the years to come. As a Public Policy Analyst’s student, you have the duties and responsibilities to help the research to find the cure. During this project, you will answer different questions: What is cancer? Can cancer be prevented? How is cancer treated? What is staging? What are the difference types of cancer? What is the difference complementary and alternative therapy? What is remission? What kind of cancer screening can you identify? What kind of support system is available for cancer patients? What kind of Nutrition can the cancer victims fallow?

On the disease; the different types of cancer; how prevalent is cancer among blacks, Hispanics, whites and others groups. Evaluate the existing public policy on cancer research, in order to complete the project. Your paper should include the fallowing:

You will conduct a wed-bases research to find out more about cancer. Determine the causes of cancer; research available on the subject: the hospitals specializing.

1-Definition of five different types of cancers.

2-Causes and Effects.

3-Identify some of the symptoms.

4-Explore some of the risks of chemotherapy.

5-Name some of the hospital which specialize in treating certain type of cancer.

6- The number some of the criticisms of genetic and molecular research

7-Identify the group of people most commonly affected by the five different types of cancer you already mentioned.

1-You will use the previous guidelines and the resources provide below in order to complete a research paper.

2-You will work in group in groups of four and five students.

3-You uses the six steps of public policy analyst, in order to complete your report.

4-Each group will visit center, hospital or community center in order to interview one or two with cancer.

5-Every week, the group will be responsible for presenting one of the six steps of the public policy analyst process.

6-Once the project is completed; each of the group will make a short presentation to the class and a ten to twenty page report will be presented to the teacher (type-written).

You will be grade based in three criteria:

1-Each group will make a 15-minute presentation, which will worth 25% of the final grade.

Your presentation should have a beginning, a middle and end.

2-Ten percent will be given for the organization and presentation of the typewritten report.

3-The final, 65% will be given for the appropriate use f New York Standard of Written English.

By the end of the project, each of the students should have a better understanding about the difference types of cancers, causes, and symptoms. You will also walk away with a clear understanding of the impact of the illness on the other members of the family and in the community as

whole. You will also be cognizant of resources and referral sources in your neidorhood.
