INTRODUCTION
You are 15 years old . Your father and
mother do not allow you to date. But there
is this handsome boy you met at your school.
He just stole your heart away.
Although you are forbidden to date anyone, you cannot seem to pull
yourself away from him. Someone has told
your mother about your clandestine affair, and now you are under the axe. You do not want to disobey your parents, nevertheless you do not want to lose the love of
your life either. What do you do? Decisions!
Decisions! Should I follow the
path of obedience or should I follow my heart?
YOUR TASK:
Your task
is to brainstorm a family problem facing our communities and the world
today, and find a solution to that
problem, using the Public Policy Analyst

To assist you.
1.
You will write a four page
report defining the social problem
and
the effect that family feuds have on the households.
2.
You will follow the six steps of
the Public Policy Analyst.
3.
You will review the sample list,
and use the worksheets to guide you in making your decisions.
4.
You will also use the Graphic
Organizer “Inspiration” to help you organize your thoughts so that you can
write a better essay.
5.
In your essay you will also list
at least three solutions that you think would be applicable in solving the
problem.
Your paper must contain:
a.) Your Thesis Statement .
b.) Three body paragraphs, and
c.) Your Conclusion.
d.) Follow the conventions of
standard written English.
We will be using Parts II
and III of the English Language Arts Regents Standards.
6.
You will also be required to
make a Power Point Presentaion of at least six slides on your specific problem.
PROCESS
1. You will be asked to work in groups of three or groups of four.
2.
Each
group will work on the problems and their solutions.
3.
You
will click on the web site addresses that I provide, to get the information you
need.
4.
At the
end of your research, you will make a Power Point presentation to the class.
5.
You
will be asked to use quotations from the novel to prove your point or to
identify your
