You are a reporter working for the daily sun.  You wake up one morning and find yourself in 17th century France. You realize that you have the ability travel through time.  You decide to stay in this time period for a while. Louis the XIV is King.  You love living in France.  The French are the best.  Your king is the sun or so he says every chance he gets.  First thing in the morning you run to get the paper, old habits die hard.  You read "Extra, Extra, Bonne chance! Express yourself, let your king know how you feel."   The Daily Sun is running an editorial contest.  The best editorial from each estate will be printed in this Sunday's Sun.  Your challenge: the three estates must decide what they want from their king.  Is he absolutely in charge?  is he the sun or isnt he?  You already know absolute monarchy or absolutism means that the sovereign power or ultimate authority in the state rests in the hands of a king who claims to rule by divine right.  Many social problems exist during this time including inequality the estates, economic depression, etc.  So how do you feel about this Louis XIV?  After this you decide you want to travel to a different time in France, specifically 1789. You want to see what happened to absolutism and the power of the king.  Why is the reign of Louis XVI completely different than the reign of Louis XIV?
