FOLLOW-UP WEBQUEST: Human rights/ Student Rights

Topic Question:   Can you be detained and searched by school authorities ( Security) ? Your Webquest will research this question.

 

 

INTRODUCTION :  Our school is undergoing a change in administration and security regulations. JFK now has over 40 security officers, over a 21 deans and police officers assigned to the school. 

                                Students have been complaining of extraordinary searches and detentions in school.  These complaints revolve around X-Ray machines,wand frist-downs, and physical searches.  This Webquest relates to individual student rights. WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS AS A NEW CITY SCHOOL STUDENT?

 

TASK: Your task is to use the research tools of CompLegal and other available sources that will be outlined for you.  Which rights do you have in light of the new security crackdown?

Carefully formulate a list of your rights in school and the school authorities rights.  You will create balance sheet in chart form . 

 

 

PROCESS: Where is power located the most in the school or in the individual? CompuLegal will be
