Web Quest: So You Think You Can Become the President?

Introduction:

 

We have children from all different countries and we would like to show them how laws impact upon every aspect of life. Many of you were probably born in the United States, perhaps even in this city. But many of you were probably born in other parts of the world. Think for a minute about how your life might be different if you were not born where you were born.

 

 

Task:

 

1.            Students will identify the part in the constitution, which you need to become President of the United States.

 

2.            Students will locate steps to change this part of the constitution.

 

3.            Students will summarize this process in the constitution.

 

4.            Students will make an interactive section of this process.

 

 

Process:

 

  1. Students will break into groups of six.

 

  1. Each group will brainstorm about some restriction in their country that they might not find in the United States.

 

  1. Students will summarize this process in a composition.

 

  1. Students will use the Web sites to identify and analyze Article II of the Constitution.

 

  1. Students will use the information to write an essay.

 

  1. Students will create a power point presentation.
