Introduction:
Many Americans have a stake in an effective response To such hate crimes as violent bigotry. Hate crimes forces us to response because of our special emotional and psychological impact on effect on the victims and the victim’s community. This type of crime is an example of environmental values for example social/culture and ethical/moral.
These crimes can be damaging to the fabric of our society and the fragment communities.
Task:
Students will be place into groups of five or less. Each group will be assign to research a hate crime and explain how it relates to environmental values as it relates to environmental science.
1. Students will design a survey about their hate crime research.
2. Each group will exchange surveys and answer the questions of that particular survey.
3. The class will take a poll among themselves and compare their response to some of the questions on hate crimes.

Process:
Each group will assign two people to different subject classes
a. Each individual will be assigned to either a science math or English class to conduct their survey.
b. Each group will also assign a recorder. The recorder will tally up the response.
c. Each group will assigned an individual to design a chart by using power point.
d. Each group chart will explain and show a comparison of each subject class responses to their surveys.
Evaluation:
1 each student will have to write their own research paper on a hate crime of their choice.
2 each student must type their paper and double space
3 all papers must include some type of statistical data from a design survey conducted within their community.
4 all papers should be at least 3-5 pages with a cover page attach.
5 The research information is 50 pts and the survey design is 25 pts.
Conclusion:
This research paper is due November 20,2000.
All presentation is 25pts each. All oral reports
