INTRODUCTION

* NEW YORK IS A VERY COMPLICATED CITY. IT SUPPLIES

MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WITH RESOURCES NEEDED TO

SURVIVE. SOME OF THESE RESOURCES ARE GAS,

ELECTRICITY, WATER, AND IN SOME CASES HEAT. MOST

OF THESE RESOURCES ARE SUPPLIED THROUGH PIPES

LOCATED UNDER OUR CITY STREETS. THESE PIPES MAY HAVE

BEEN UNDERGROUND FOR CENTURIES. THERE WILL COME

A TIME WHEN THEY WILL BURST DO TO AGING. WE HAVE

EXPERIENCED WATER MAIN BREAKS WHICH HAVE

CAUSED CHAOS IN OUR CITY STREETS.  This is DUE IN PART TO

THE LACK OF monitoring our plumbing system in New York RECIEVES. THE CURRENT POLICY IS PART OF THE CITY’S RESPONSIBILTY. IS THERE A BETTER SOLUTION?

TASK

Your task is to write a persuasive four-page report on Microsoft Word that you will use to publicly address the class and convince them on why the Major’s office (the city) should not or should be in control of monitoring our plumbing system. Choose one of the following solutions and support that proposed policy with positives to show why you would support that policy. Also, explain the negatives of other policy proposed. Research on the topic and use the following Public Policy Steps. You should be able to incorporate the English, Math, Science and Social Studies standards in your report. Student must also include related information in the following subjects: Science and Social Studies. The report should be double spaced with a 1” margin on all sides.
