Introduction

In the novel The Outsiders, Johnny is in trouble. He needs your help quickly. Johnny’s parents are abusing him. His father hits him and he never cares about what Johnny does. How can you help Johnny? What are the laws in this country dealing with child abuse? What advise would you give Johnny? What is the difference between a spank and a hit?

What can Johnny do? Where can he go for help? You must help him.

Task

You will conduct web-based research to read more about the problems of child abuse and to find agencies that provide support for survivors. You will create a Power Point presentation advising Johnny what he can do concerning the problems of his family. You should include the research you gained in your research concerning child abuse, statistics and agency sites.
