Introduction:

            We will be discussing the latest crisis in the Middle East.

 

Task:

·       The students will work in groups to research all past Middle East Conflicts since 1948.

·       The students will be asked to submit their Internet research.  The students will bookmark their research resources on the computers in the technology room.

·       Each group will write an essay analyzing the current problems in the Middles East.  The essay will compose of the following:

1.     facts about the current problems and issues facing the Middle East.

2.     the countries involved in the crisis in the Middle East.

3.     what has been the United States foreign policy in this region?

4.     If you were a foreign policy expert, what would be your suggestions for changing our foreign policy and how would you resolve the current crisis in the Middle East.

Process:

          All material must be double space typed written a minimum of three pages. The papers must include a title page

          and bibliography.

 

Conclusion/Evaluation: 

          * Papers will be evaluated based upon your ability to use the information you

gathered to develop a thoughtful foreign policy approach.

·       Your paper grade will reflect 25% of your grade for the 3rd marking period grade.

·       Each group will be required to present their papers to the class.  The class will evaluate the group’s foreign policy proposal as well as their presentation skills.
