Date: September 23, 1999 Group Members: John Smith, Jane Doe, and Joe Shmoe

Your problem (phrase):

The problem that needs to be addressed is the large number of teenagers in this country who drive drunk.

List at least three public policy alternatives. Be sure that all of your public policy alternatives are at the same geographical level as your social problem. Each alternative must specify the actual government or government agency that will carry out the proposed action.

Three possible proposals for reducing teen drunk driving deaths are:

  1. Reducing the legal level for DUI from .10 to .08. (national level)

  2. Increased education in schools about alcohol and the consequences of drunk driving by implementing THINK MADD. (local school district level)

  3. Raising the age at which you can get a license to 18. (national level)
