Worksheet 10:          Describing the Policy to be Implemented

The Riverside Youth Bureau should create a court with teenagers as judges to try and sentence youths eighteen and under accused of buying, selling, and using drugs. The Teen Court would sentence the offenders to rehabilitation, community service, and time serving on the Teen Court. This program will be controlled by the County Youth Bureau.

 

(B)                Indicate the legislative requirements for the proposed policy:

 

 

New legislation is not needed for implementation of the policy, and all administrative duties will be performed by the program director.

(C)                Indicate the administrative and financial requirements for the proposed policy:

 

 

The court will be administered by a new staff person whose salary, expenses, and administrative costs will total $36,000.

 

(D)                Indicate the judicial requirements for the proposed policy:

 

 

No formal court action is required, but the District Attorney and the Town Justice would have to agree to allow this court to operate informally.
