WORKSHEET 17: Assessing
the Impact of the Proposed Strategy
(A) Briefly describe the impact of the strategy you developed in Worksheet # 16. For each player list the original issue position, power and priority scores. List the new scores produced by your strategy. If the scores remain the same write an "S." Provide a reason for the changes:
PLAYER |
ORIGINAL SCORE |
NEW SCORE |
REASONS |
Dr.
Neil Cohen |
Position +4 Power 4 Priority 3 |
S S S |
The compromise does not change his position. He still favors increasing asthma
education. |
Herbert Berman |
Position -4 Power 5 Priority 1 |
S S S |
The compromise does change his opposition. He has
other priorities. |
Victor Robles |
Position -3 Power 5 Priority 2 |
+1 S S |
The
compromise does change his position since there will be some oversight from
the Advisory Board on if the program is effective so he is going to support
it. |
Joel Klein |
Position +2 Power 4 Priority 0 |
S S 2 |
His
priority increases to 2 since he will be a member of the Advisory Board. |
Lucille Swarns |
Position +3 Power 2 Priority 1 |
S S 2 |
Her
priority increases since she will likely be a member of the Advisory Board
and support running it as a pilot program first. |

CALCULATION OF THE PROBABILITY:
Calculation 2: Sum of all of the positive scores plus 1/2 neutral scores = 86
Calculation 3: Sum of all scores ignoring signs and parentheses = 106
Calculation 4: Probability of support = Calculation 2 divided by Calculation 3
= 86/106 = .81 x 100 = 81%
