Statistics

Approximately 15% of students are either bullied regularly or are initiators of bullying behavior (from http://ericps.crc.uiuc.edu/eece/pubs/digests/ed-cite/ed384437.html) Therefore, bullying is probably a problem at Jefferson Elementary School, too.

Surveys

Our class conducted a survey. We surveyed a sample of 20 students and  20 teachers from our school using www.OpinionPower.com  The survey was called “Bullying at Jefferson Elementary.” Our results were: (1) 65% of the students and 25% of the teachers said they knew of at least one student at Jefferson who was having a problem with a bullying student (2) 50% of the students and 20% of the teachers indicated that bullying was either a “very serious” or “somewhat serious” problem at Jefferson.
