Step #2:    Where Is The Evidence?

Articles By Experts

 

Experts are people who know a great deal about a certain topic, problem or issue.
There are probably experts that have studied your social problem.
These experts write books and articles.

The PPA has links to some Internet sites that contain articles about social problems such as crime, drugs and violence.
Also, your teacher can help you to search the Internet for articles by experts related to your problem.

Here are some suggestions about using articles by experts:

  • Be sure the author is really an expert on the problem.
  • Look for evidence of the problem in the articles.
  • Summarize the evidence from the article.
  • Bookmark the article so you can return to it.
  • Record the title, author and web address.
