AHPPA Steps

Introduction

As a result of using the AHPPA, you will develop the following policy skills, learning how to:

Identify the nature of an historical social problem
Gather evidence to support the existence of the problem
Determine the causes and factors contributing to the problem
Identify and evaluate the policy enacted at that time in history
Develop a public policy analysis for a similar historical or contemporary social problem (optional activity)

In addition to public policy skills, you will also be learning:

How to effectively use the Internet to do research and gather information
to engage in collaborative problem solving,
thinking and writing skills related to developing essays for the thematic and document based questions on the state Regents examinations
