· Do you believe that these problems are a major issue in today’s times?
· State various solutions that you feel can help the theme that you have chosen.
· As you do your research, look for various scenarios that have been in the news that you can correlate with your theme.
· You are to formulate your research into a 3-4 page paper.
Social Problem:
In The House on Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros addressed the social problems of racism, poverty, sexism and gender roles. Your task is to choose one of these problems and analyze it using the six steps of the Public Policy Analyst (PPA), including developing new policies to decrease that problem on New York City today.
Process
You will work together in small groups assigned by the teacher. First, each group will determine which problem in the story will be their focus. Before completing your paper, use the following 6-step TIPS public policy analysis work sheets using evidence from The House on Mango Street.
