INTRODUCTION
The Bronx Borough President has recruited your class to investigate the rising rate of asthma in the Bronx. Your class will utilize the public policy steps to evaluate the cause of the problem as well as propose a solution.

TASK
Your task in this Web Quest is to use the steps of the PPA to identify the cause and develop a proposed solution to the rising rates of asthma in children in the Bronx.
Each group will develop a story board or PowerPoint/Prezi presentation demonstrating each step of the public policy implemented in developing their solution. Your culminating activity will be a group presentation of your findings to the class.
PROCESS/RESOURCES
Your group must collaborate to identify the cause of the problem outlined and find the best solution for it. You should use internet searches, case studies or statistics to obtain data on the occurrence of child asthma in the Bronx. You will work as a group of 4 to implement the 6 steps of the Public Policy Analyst to accomplish your goal. The end product can be presented as a story board, or PowerPoint/Prezi presentation.
Roles:
1. Group Leader- ensures that group works collaboratively, manages time efficiently and meets all criteria for the task.
2. Research/Data Manager- researches multiple sources to obtain data and accurately records that data.
3. Graphics Engineer- responsible for creating written and visual presentation.
4. Presenter- orally presents groups’ project.

2. A minimum of 2 illustrations that are relevant to topic
3. Data on child asthma in the Bronx collected from at least 2 sources and presented in the form of a graph using case studies, statistics or internet searches as your information gathering tools
4. Environmental conditions in the Bronx that cause increased occurrence of child asthma
5. A minimum of 3 possible solutions are identified by group
6. Group identifies best solution and provides justification for their choice
7. Appropriate citations are used to give credit to sources used

CONCLUSION
Upon completion of your WebQuest your group members should have developed skills needed to successful solve real world problems by using the Public Policy Analyst. You should have evidence of the causes of the rising frequency of child asthma in the Bronx and should have carefully evaluated possible solutions, selecting the best one as your recommendation to the Bronx borough president. In the process of creation of your WebQuest you also improved your ability to work as a team, ability to utilize technology in problem solving and your presentation skills. Your group members should have also have also realized that the Public Policy Analyst can be used to solve many other real world problems.
