Introduction
Before the United States was part of World War 2 they issued a draft. A draft is a mandatory enlistment into the army of all civilians.
The problem was that there weren’t enough soldiers to fight if the U.S. gets eventually dragged into the war.
Implemented solution
President Roosevelt's signed the STSA (Selective Training and Service Act) on September 16, 1940, to begin the first peacetime draft in the United States. which required that all men between the ages of 21 and 45 to register for the draft and they were then chosen to serve through a lottery process. During the time of war over10 million draftees have been inducted in the military.
We are going to do a public policy analysis for this issue.
