STUDENTS LYING |

5th GRADE
PS/IS 127Q
MATEO OSORIO
INTRODUCTION
Teachers at our school are starting to review assignments that students turn in. There appears to be a large number of missing online assignments for many students (e.g., Google Classroom, EdPuzzle, Envision, iReady, etc.). When teachers contact parents to discuss their children's circumstances, it has been determined that children are informing their parents that they are finishing their homework. In actuality, though, they are showing previous graded homework to their parents. Consequently, educators and parents believe that students are lying to their parents and their teachers, causing them to lose trust they had built between them and their teachers.
TASK
● You will investigate what are some of the challenges students are facing to complete school work and how these challenges are leading to dishonesty with their parents and teachers.
● Develop some strategies students can implement to complete their assignments on time.
● Develop strategies for students to regain their parents and teachers' trust and create a positive learning environment.
● By creating a presentation to be presented to the class.
○ Examples will be provided
