Introduction |
Every student for many different reasons, once in a while is absent, but when absenteeism becomes chronic, it is likely to affect students’ achievement in the long run. According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, absenteeism appears to be on the rise across the country, but particularly among students of low socio-economic status. Research has shown that there are links between school attendance and achievement on standardized testing, graduation rates, and dropout rates.
