Observations on PPA Presentations

·     Make sure your presentation is shareable with editing access

·     Good identification of social problem with location

·     Good use of alternative backgrounds/templates to make your presentation stand out and more enjoyable to view

·     On title slide, include your name, school, etc

·     If using a title which doesn’t state the problem, create a sub-title that does

·     Include slide which lists the 6 steps of the PPA, this will allow your students to get familiar with the process when they analyze another problem

·     Make sure you don’t skip any steps (Step 4: Examine an Existing Policy, advantages and disadvantages)

·     Make sure your proposed policies in Step 5 are specific policies and not goals

·     Include Step 6; evaluating policies based on feasibility and effectiveness

·     Include images/pictures/videos/hyperlinks into your slides to make them easier for younger students to understand

·     Find real data on your problem, summarize if not in an accessible form

·     Include opportunities for students to interact by asking them questions or having them brainstorm

·     Add slide transitions and/or animation
