Cyberbullying

INTRODUCTION

Watch this video about cyberbullying.  Have you ever been bullied? Do you know you can be bullied online? Cyberbullying is when kids use the internet or cell phones to make another kid feel angry, sad or scared. It can be sending hurtful texts or posting embarrassing photos on social media. With the rise of access to technology, cyberbullying has become a major problem in schools. As digital citizens it is our responsibility to take part in the online community safely, ethically and respectfully.  How can we help prevent cyberbullying at our school? 

 

TASK

You will be working in groups to determine the reasons and effects of cyberbullying and how it can be addressed. Your group will create a digital presentation to share findings and propose solutions. Your group should:

1.       Define the problem

2.        Gather evidence

3.        Identify the Causes

4.         Evaluate the existing school policy on cyberbullying

5.        Develop Solutions

6.       Select the best Solution

CONCLUSION

In the process of completing this PPA Web quest, you have defined the problem of cyberbullying and identified its causes and effects. By learning about current policies and developing and evaluating your own solutions you are making a difference at our school and hopefully in your own lives.
