INTRODUCTION Woman Sticker by INTO ACTION

What would we do without women? Did you know that women are the primary caretakers of children and elderly people in every country of the world? Yes, it’s true!

Women don’t only take care of children, the elderly, and the household.  Throughout history, women have made so many important contributions. These contributions have improved the lives of so many people throughout the world.

TASK

You and your partner will embark on a journey to learn more about the amazing contributions made by women throughout history.

After doing lots of research, you and your partner will create a Flipgrid or a poster telling all about a woman in history you have never heard of and all about the amazing contributions they have made. What makes this woman so special? What made this woman stand out to you and your partner the most?

PROCESS/RESOURCES

You and your partner will use “The 6 Steps of the Public Policy Analyst (PPA)” to make sure that the discoveries and contributions made by women will not be overlooked and ignored.  Here are the six steps:

1.  Define the Problem

2.  Gather the Evidence

3.  Identify the Causes

4.  Evaluate an Existing Policy

5.  Develop Solutions

6.  Select the Best Solution

Well, now is your chance to come up with some solutions.  How can we make sure the amazing discoveries and contributions of women do not get overlooked or forgotten? What can we do at P.S. 123Q to discover the incredible women in history and celebrate them?

With your partner, create a Flipgrid OR a poster. Be ready to present your Flipgrid or poster to the rest of the class. In addition, your Flipgrid or poster will be available for the entire school community, so please make sure to do your best work.
