INTRODUCTION |
|
In this project you will
research the lack of parks and recreational centers in New York City or your
communities. Also, look at the functionality of these facilities and how they
are rundown and unsafe to be used. Parks and recreational centers are an important
part of our communities as we learn and develop as a country. Your job is to
research these facilities online or in your communities and come up with a
solution that will inform the public and our city government of ways to
improve, sustain, and build new facilities. |
|
TASK |
|
For this project you will
create a Google slide presentation (At least 7 Slides) about the lack of
parks and recreational centers in NYC. Identify the reason many constructions
of buildings are being built daily in New York City but not any park or recreational
sensors to sustain the development of those facilities. Also look at the condition
of the facilities that are not available; from tennis to basketball, to
hockey biking and other activities around the city. What is the condition of
the courts that students have the play on, look at the school yards in NYC
that children play on. Another issue is the lack of lights for people who
want to play later in the evening in the parks. Showcase what you have learned
from your research in this Google slide presentation. Here are a few
questions to get you started. ● What is the condition of the facilities that
are being used by our children? ● How far do you need to travel to find an
appropriate place to play the sport or activity you love? ● How do you feel about all the apartment
buildings that are going up in our communities and no after school or
playground to support them? ● What changes can we make to add in your
facilities and to repair the ones that are existent? ● How can we get local government and
politicians on the same page that will help support a balanced community with
recreational centers for our children? ● How can you help in building and maintaining
these facilities for the future of New York City? |

As you complete your
research and put together your findings, please apply all the elements of the
PPA. Have a good solution for the purpose of providing good quality
playgrounds and recreational centers for the communities. Below are the PPA
steps that should be followed through your presentation. 4. Evaluating an
existing policy/solution 5. Develop a solution
