INTRODUCTION
Schools play
an important role in developing our youth.
Students are provided with knowledge and skills to prepare them to be
career and college ready. However,
teaching students to develop strong character and values are equally essential,
and can counter difficult issues such as school violence, peer pressure, poor
grades, and other problems that significantly impact their education.
TASK
Produce a slide presentation on character development. You
are to discuss the problems that can be attributed to students that lack
character and values. Present and
evaluate possible solutions, and select the most practical and effective one.
Create your slide presentation using Powerpoint. Your presentation must contain at least 8
slides and should take 5 to 10 minutes to present.
Process:
1.
Define the Problem – PPA Worksheet #1
Restate the problem. Elaborate and give
specific examples. Include your voice in
the introduction to appeal to your audience.
2.
Gather Evidence – PPA Worksheet #2
The following are sources of information about how character development is
being integrated into school. You may
use other resources too.
3.
Identify Causes – PPA Worksheet #3
Use the resources from above to identify causes. However, add your own ideas.
4.
Evaluate an Existing Policy – PPA Worksheet #4
Describe and discuss the current
program in our school to promote character development.
5.
Develop Solutions – PPA Worksheet #5
In your research with the resources already mentioned above, you have probably
encountered several suggestions for improving character development in
schools. Describe these solutions;
develop your own solutions; and propose your 3 best solutions.
6.
Select the Best Solution – PPA Worksheet #6
Compare your possible solutions based on their feasibility and practicality.
Choose the one that you believe to be the best overall, and justify your
choice.

CONCLUSION
In working on your project, you should have learned that
there are many issues in school and society due to lack of character
development among students. Also, you
were able to identify the benefits of character development. There is no single solution to this problem,
but you have a clearer understanding of the surrounding issues, and have
developed some logical solutions that you can explain and support to your peers
and school community.
