Cyberbullying

The Introduction

 

A few of your friends recently experienced cyberbullying on Instagram, Twitter, and/or Snapchat.  They were very upset by this and you want to learn more about cyberbullying and how you can prevent this from happening to you and your other friends.  How can we, as a school, help prevent this type of bullying from happening?

 

 

The Task

 

Step 1: Gather Evidence

-Define cyberbullying

-State 3 possible effects of cyberbullying  

 

Step 2: Propose A Solution

-State 3 ways to help prevent cyberbullying

-Discuss cyberbullying policies in our school (if any), or state/national laws

 

Step 3: Fill in PPA Worksheets

 

-Fill in all worksheets to ensure you have all of the information necessary for this project

Step 4: Create Presentation

-Create a presentation (PowerPoint or Video) to present to the class.

 

 

The Process

-Break into groups of 4 students.  Each group member will have a role and responsibilities

-Use the resources provided to research cyberbullying.

-Create a final presentation (Powerpoint OR Video)

 

For the final PowerPoint:

-Include all group members names

-Email the PowerPoint to yourself or put it on a USB for the presentation

-Include pictures/graphics (Get creative!)

-All group members must present the PowerPoint

 

OR

 

For the Video:

-Use the class Ipad or your cell phone

-Email the video to yourself or put it on a USB for the presentation

-Video must be 3 minutes long

-All group members must be in the video

Based on your research, you should have gained knowledge on cyberbullying, the causes, and how to prevent it from happening in your own school.  Your school policy or national/state laws will also make you more aware of the consequences of cyberbullying.
