Your group will research the rise of youth gang involvement in the

The report must be typed using MS Word and be 12 font.
Each group will also present an oral presentation of FIVE- TEN
minutes explaining the group’s findings. All steps of the PPA must be used in
this report.
Step 1: You will form groups of 3-4 to complete
this Web Quest together.
Step 2: Each group will research teen violence particularly in a neighborhood
with which you are familiar. This may
include information about why teens join gangs, ages of members in the gangs,
type of gangs in each neighborhood, statistics, etc. Make sure you include your research about
these topics. Research will be done on the internet, using the suggested sites
listed. When the websites in the resource section are all reviewed, the group
will complete the SIX STEP PUBLIC POLICY ANALYST. These six worksheets linked
blow, will be used as resource material for the written and oral reports.
Step #3: Groups will be divided
according to responsibilities as follows. The instructor will make these
decisions.
Student
# 1: Recorder & Writer-This student will take notes
on information gathered by group members and write an outline for the written
and oral report. These notes will also be used by each member to write the
paper. This student will be responsible for completing the Public Policy
Analyst Worksheets for gang violence
Student
# 2: Researcher-This student will do the research, with
help of other members. He/she will search the Internet and gather information
that will be used to complete the worksheets. The information gathered will be
focused on ethics and stem cell research.
Student # 3: Time
keeper of organizer-Will keep the group on track. He/she will assist in the
research, lead & coordinate group meetings and be aware of teacher made
deadlines and schedules
Student
# 4: Presenter-
This student will be responsible to convey the group findings to the class.
He/she will be the main speaker in the Oral Presentation and will assign others
their subordinate roles for the oral presentation. The
written report should be used as part of this presentation.
The
presenter will coordinate the oral report but all members will take part in
some form.
