The Facts of Lee v. Weisman:
The principal (Lee) of a Providence Rhode Island high school (following an existing city policy) invited a rabbi to deliver an invocation and benediction as part of the graduation ceremonies. It was recommended to the rabbi that the prayer be nonsectarian and inclusive. A parent (Weisman) of one of the graduating students protested the school's policy.
