The Facts of Ingraham v. Wright:
The parents of two students (Ingraham and Andrews) who were paddled in a Dade County, Florida junior high school in October of 1970 sued the officials (Wright, the principal) arguing that the paddling violated the students' Eighth and Fourteenth Amendment rights.
