The Steirer v. Bethlehem Decision:
The U.S. Supreme Court refused the appeal of this cased, thus leaving the lower court rulings in force. That ruling stated that the Bethlehem Area's mandatory community service program is not unique, but we are aware of no federal appellate court decision addressing the constitutionality of such programs in public schools.
