Ingraham v. Wright: Decision

The Supreme Court, by a 5-4 majority, decided that corporal punishment did not violate the Eighth Amendment since that amendment dealt with criminal actions. And corporal punishment did not require prior notice and a hearing before paddling and therefore the Fourteenth Amendment does not apply.
