Escobedo v. Illinois: Decision

 


The Court ruled in favor of Escobedo. The police's denial of Escobedo's right to counsel and their failure to inform him of his right to remain silent were unconstitutional. Any statements made by a defendant who was not informed of his rights is inadmissible in court.
