10:10 a.m.         WebTools (continued)

This site allows students to enter text which is then transformed into a newspaper article with headline and byline.

Create flashcards for studying.  Can be shared with others and you can also use previously created quizlets.

·        QR Codes

Originally designed in Japan for the automotive industry, marketers adopted the barcodes because of their large storage capacity and ability to translate additional information to consumers beyond what packaging could convey.

If a consumer sees a QR code somewhere, they can take out their mobile device, open up a QR code scanner, and "scan" the barcode to gain access to additional information.

·        Random Name Picker

You can enter a list of names and have the website randomly choose one.

·        Team Maker

Similar to the random name generator, this website allows you to randomly break students into teams.

User created and curated online games where you fill in the blanks in the allotted time.  A huge number of subjects and topics covered.  User-generated, so you or your students can create your own list.

12:00 p.m.         Work on your WebQuest, presentation, or work with Webtools

A PPA WebQuest begins with a social problem in the Introduction section.  Students then are given Tasks to complete (which has them examine the problem using the PPA steps) and all information/resources/instructions that they need is found in the Process section.  The Evaluation section usually includes a rubric for the assigned task(s).  The Conclusion summarizes what the students have completed, and the Standards section lists those standards met by students in completing the task(s).

A PPA Presentation is a PowerPoint, Slides or Prezi presentation which examines a social problem (using at least one step of the PPA) in an interactive way with students in a single class-period.
